Journal

The Society publishes an annual Journal, which welcomes contributions on all aspects of Huddersfield history. The 2019/20 issue is now on sale to the public.

Contributions to the Journal are welcome, and guidance for contributors is given in our notes for authors. To offer or suggest a contribution, please contact us in the first instance.

We have published the journal since 1990, and a newsletter from 1983 to 1990. The back run of issues have been digitised and are now available to download for free. There is also a searchable index.

Due to the events of 2020 and the need to end our planned 2019/20 season of talks in March, we decided to reward our members with a Christmas present to celebrate 30 years of the Society’s Journal.

Containing over 90 pages of festive cheer, the Christmas Special brings together a selection of archive articles and a tinseled treasure trove of Christmas Past from the local area. A limited number of print copies are now available for purchase. Details of the contents can be found here.
